As artists sometimes the smallest sources can have large effects on inspiration and creativity. Some of the smallest and unseen process of our world can have the most captivating effects. Never is this more true than with this breathtaking capture of uranium emitting radiation.
A device known as a cloud chamber is filled with a vapor made of alcohol. This chamber is ket at a pressure and temperature which creates an environment where any change, however miniscule, will cause the vapors to condense. As the radioactive particles are emitted from the uranium and shot through the vapor, the molecules in front of the particles are upset, causing these mesmerizing vapor trails.
