Introducing a new series featuring Virginia artists. Our first is a talented artist and inspiring art educator.
Danielle O’Brien is an emerging maker living in the Washington D.C. metro area. As an art educator, she balances her passion for art advocacy and education with an active studio practice. She received her BFA from James Madison University with a concentration in sculpture and minor in art history. Danielle has had her work featured in national and international exhibitions including at the Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art, the University of Cincinnati, and McLean Project for the Arts.
Recently, she was awarded a residency at Proyecto Ace, a non profit artist residency based in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in their SUB30 program specifically designed for artists and makers under 30 years old. This is an incredible opportunity for her to further investigate and develop her work in a new environment and spread her art internationally.
